Overview

MuseSwitch scans .vst3 folders, reads MuseScore Studio 4 plugin JSON, and toggles only the enabled field. It does not load VST binaries. It is not affiliated with MuseScore.

Why it exists

MuseScore’s plugin list is easy to get into a messy state: missing files, duplicates, unknown schemas. I wanted a small tool that can scan, match, bulk enable or disable, and roll back.

Safety

  • Close MuseScore before applying changes
  • Filesystem scan only — no dlopen of plugins
  • Backup before write, with restore and diff
  • Import / export profiles
  • A resolve view for missing, duplicate, and unknown records
  • An optional guard if MuseScore is still running

Stack

Tauri v2, React, TypeScript, and Rust. macOS, Windows, and Linux follow the same config layout under their usual application-support paths.
